Year 9 students from Denton Community Collge visited the National Holocaust Centre this week. Students learnt about the origins of the Holocaust and evaluated how the Jewish people became a target for destruction.
The visit gave students the opportunity to reflect on what it was like to be a Jew living in Germany at the time of around World War 2 and gave a powerful lesson on antisemitism to those that went on the trip.
This interesting and educational trip provided important context for the students, it helped the students to remember the past whilst highlighting how they should protect the future. It proved a rewarding experience for all involved.
