As you will be aware, on Monday 22nd February 2021 the Prime Minister announced to the nation that from 8th March 2021 ‘pupils and students in all schools and further education settings can safely return to face-to-face teaching’ and that ‘school attendance will be mandatory for all pupils, with secondary schools and colleges able to phase return over the week of 8th March to allow students to be offered testing on return’. The testing of students in college continues to progress well and we are now at the stage where we are ready to move from testing in college to home testing.
If you gave consent for your child to take part in the COVID-19 testing currently taking place in College then no further action is needed, your child will receive their first batch of home testing kits this week when they receive their third and final test in College.
If you did not give consent for your child to take part in the COVID-19 testing taking place in College then you may still opt-in to home testing for your child. Please read the attached letter outlining our approach to home testing in more detail and the attached COVID-19 testing privacy statement detailing the data we will need to collect from you and how it will be treated. If after reading these documents you wish to opt-in to home testing for your child/children then please complete the Consent form for opting-in to Home testing for your child/children before Friday the 19th of March, 2021.
If you choose to opt-in to home testing for your child, they will receive their first batch of home testing kits in the week commencing Monday, the 22nd of March, 2021.
