DCC receive UK Parliament Recognition!

DCC has this week been recognised as an establishment that provides schemes of work that engage pupils and colleagues in UK Parliament and democracy.

After submitting a portfolio, the UK Parliament expressed how impressed they were with Mr Spencer and the RS team, and how they had managed to embed work related to Democracy at Denton Community College. They praised the teachers for a brilliant job of engaging our pupils and colleagues in the UK Parliament and democratic process.

The college gained special recognition for the achievement of raising student awareness in topics as diverse as Uighur Muslims, LGBTQ+ Action and the Make Your Mark programme.

Consequently, we are delighted to confirm Mr Spencer’s status as UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador (Gold). The college has been awarded two versions of a digital badge which Denton Community College will add to the website.

We will shortly receive a printed certificate and an enamel badge. Mr Spencer will also be invited to the ‘show and tell’ at the next Teachers’ Institute currently scheduled for 22 June.

We are immensely proud of this achievement and want to thank Mr Spencer and the RS team for helping our pupils and colleagues in Denton to learn more about the UK Parliament!

Well done Mr Spencer for becoming a Teacher Ambassador and the team for their hard work!
