Y7 Rounders ‘Champions of Tameside’

Last night the year 7 rounders team competed in the annual Tameside tournament.
They competed against Fairfield, St Thomas More and All Saints.
They were undefeated in all games, being crowned the Champions of Tameside overall.  They demonstrated excellent teamwork and communication skills alongside great sportsmanship.  In some games they didn’t even concede any points!
They were a credit to the school!  A massive congratulations to these students.

DCC & Brother UK Partnership

DCC works closely alongside Brother UK to offer a mentoring programme to Year 10 and 11 students.

Brother UK is based in Audenshaw, it is a global company who specialise in printing and office supplies. The mentoring programme allows students to develop employability skills and gain insight into a variety of job roles.

The scheme involves monthly mentoring sessions, delivered by Brother UK staff, that cover a wide range of employability skills including mock interviews, CV writing, presentation skills, teamwork, designing and marketing products and revision skills and time management, plus valuable information about apprenticeships.

The programme also provides opportunities for students to visit Brother UK Head Office to meet staff and experience a working environment.

DCC is proud of its work with Brother UK and the help it provides to our young people and the local community in the world of work.
