The DCC annual careers fair rolled into town on Friday 22nd March 2019. Giving the opportunity for every student from Years 7-11 to experience the wide range of Education, Employment and Training opportunities available to them when they leave college.
Thank you to Greater Manchester Higher, Tameside College, Ashton Sixth Form, Marple College, Clarendon College and The Manchester College who gave students the opportunity to speak to tutors about courses and future possible careers. A big thank you to employers including Brother UK, The Futures Programme, SETA engineering, The Dragon Football Academy, and the Armed Services who also helped students consider possible career paths education options and future careers that students could access.
The event was a huge success, and students were able to engage in a range of activities, some of which included:
- Presenting a weather programme
- Practising Photography skills
- Using the latest Scientific Equipment
- Designing and making cupcakes and pancakes
- Experiencing beauty treatments
- Trying their hand at construction
- Engaging in musical performance
- Controlling Drones
- Engaging in gaming development
- Creating Dream Catchers
- Speaking to colleges about courses
- Discussing Apprenticeships
