Transition

Making the transition from primary to secondary education can seem a daunting prospect for many young people. At Denton Community College, we aim to support students every step of the way. We work closely with our partner primary schools to ensure that students have the opportunity to take part in events at the school throughout Key Stage 2 and feel secondary ready in preparation for the transition from Year 6 to Year 7.

We’d like to say welcome to our Year 6 students who will be joining us in September!

Denton Community College will be hosting several events to ensure students and parents feel prepared:

Wednesday 22nd May 2024 onwards = Staff from Denton Community College will visit primary schools to meet the students and Year 6 staff.
Thursday 4th July 2024 = Transition day (where Year 6 students spend the day at the school)
Tuesday 2nd July 2024 = Induction Evening

Year 7 Summer School = Monday 5th August to Friday 9th August
