I would like to invite you to attend the Denton Community College Open Evening on Wednesday 25th September, between 6pm and 8pm.
During the evening there will be two formal presentations at 6:15pm and 7:00pm when I will share my vision for our future students and some of our current students will share their experiences. An equally important part of the evening will be the opportunity to tour around the school with our student committee members and see different subject areas and facilities.
You will be welcomed by our staff and students on arrival and will be advised if there is still space for the presentation. If the theatre is already full, we will direct you onto the tour where I would encourage you and your child to ask as many questions as you can and to get involved in the activities being run by each subject. I hope you will get a real sense of the high-quality learning and the expertise of our staff, as well as of our school culture where praise and enrichment run alongside academic success.
I know that choosing a secondary school is an important decision for every family, and I hope that our Open Evening will help you with your choice. We are very clear in our vision that we constantly focus on standards as we understand outcomes are paramount. Our decision making is driven entirely by what is best for children and by doing this we enhance the life chances of the children and young people in our care.
We are pleased to announce that, this year, we are the most improved school in Tameside and likely to be one of the most improved schools in England.

The evening is always very busy and we advise giving yourself time to enjoy the whole Denton experience. You will be able to park in our Taylor Lane car park as there are ample spaces. However, if you live locally, you might find it easier to walk and ease the traffic within the area.

For children transferring to secondary school in September 2025, you can apply online from 9 September 2024 until midnight on 31 October 2024, confirmation of places is in March 2025.
